The Success Story of m-panada with Temporary Spaces
POP UP SHOPS in conversation with m-panada about their empanadas, using temporary spaces and their experience with the POP UP SHOPS platform.
m-panada is a successful company that sells handmade empanadas. An empanada is a Spanish and Latin American type of baked or fried turnover consisting of pastry and filling. The name comes from the Spanish verb empanar and translates to “enbreaded” which means to coat or wrap in bread. Whether for lunch, dinner or just a snack; empanadas can be enjoyed anytime of the day.
m-panadas’ focus is on creating fresh and delicious empanadas for their customers by using healthy and natural quality ingredients. They have 10 different flavours to choose from, such as; chicken, beef, spinach, corn and more. They have even created vegan options for their plant-based customers. In addition to the empanadas, they offer homemade dipping sauces and Alfajores, which are dessert-cookies that are made with coconut flakes and dulce de leche.
The empanada brand currently runs a food stand at Zurich main station and rents temporary spaces in the shopping center Mall of Switzerland in Ebikon. A goal of theirs is to open a permanent shop one day but they have not found the perfect space in a good location with high footfall yet. Using short-term spaces is an easy and flexible alternative while on the lookout for a proper fix store. It’s a good way to reach many people, increase sales and brand awareness.
What m-panada likes about the POP UP SHOPS platform the most is that it’s a great source for finding new and different spaces and locations to promote the brand. It’s a helpful tool to easily spread the brand in different areas.
