Vetements Pop Up in Paris

Vetements launched a pop-up with the Paris store Montaigne Market at 18 Avenue Matignon on March 2, and it’s running until April 7.It was created to coincide with the opening of the new Montaigne Market store, but of course, its arrival also aligned perfectly with the Paris shows: a captive international audience keen to see the fullest range of the label’s offerings, rather than just experience it via a small edit or digitally. This pop-up is just one of the retail initiatives that the label has and will be busy with in 2018; the sight earlier this year of jaw-dropping mountains of discarded clothes piled up in the windows of London store Harrods lives in the mind, a stark reminder of not only our shocking levels of rapacious consumption, but also underscoring the ethos of Vetements, which urges us all to buy less, buy better, and make it last longer.
